Finally found a golf course with a garden and laundry facilities at a hostel! The view of Reykjavik from the bay was worth the stay.

Who needs a clean bathroom or a good night's sleep when you can have a smelly bath and be kept awake by the wind?

It was the most affordable option for my group of friends. We booked two rooms, both with their own showers, in the basement of the building. The top room had a balcony with a beautiful ocean view. The self check-in process was easy and the owners provided useful tourist information. The hostel was well located and had great facilities. The triple room felt safe and secure, and the owners' parents kindly let me do laundry since there was no laundry service in town.

I strongly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at Akranes HI Hostel - Staywest for a hiking trip to Glymurfoss. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. The location is convenient, near the town center and a short walk from a supermarket and a cute ice cream store. There is a nice parking lot across the hotel and two kitchens along with a few toilets. It's a great and affordable option for travelers exploring Iceland via the ring road.

The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is a more attentive staff. The children working there seemed a bit distracted at times and could have been more helpful in addressing any concerns or questions that arose during my stay.

I chose Hi Hostel - Staywest because I really wanted to visit Akrafjall Mountain. The fact that they offer bike and car hire was a pleasant surprise. I loved being able to easily explore the area and take in the stunning views of the sea while enjoying a barbecue.
